About Storyline
The story is revolving around the farming occupation. Many farmers dye because of the starvation or back drop. The main lead is played by Nallandi as Maayandi who is an octogenarian farmer which basically hails from very small village. The movies focus on the work done by him in his daily life. He does all the work of farming and dairy like grazing the bulls, feeding the chickens, cooking meals and many more and that too without any help.
Plot
One day tragedy happens as the lightning falls on the tree. As villagers are illiterate and they consider it as a superstitious and so they started prayer for mishappening. They started to organize a festival so that to disregard bad omens and for that they request Maayandi to do farming as he is the last farmer in that village. Mystery happens when he saw three peacocks died in his village in a very critical condition and finally buried the peacock in his own field. After those police comes in search of Maayandi and in this way the story takes a shape in a great way.

The film songs and background are scored by IIaiyaraaja but it is replaced by Santhosh Narayanan due to some reason which was not cleared. It remains a controversy for a long time as there are so much complains to be heard for the music composer.
