71 Deaths & 163 Hospitalized Post Vaccination – India’s Covid Vaccination is Closely Monitored for Adverse Events

According to government sources, around 163 people have been hospitalized and 71 deaths were reported in the vaccine recipients. The government is still in the process of establishing a link between deaths and vaccination.

No blood clots have been reported. Here in India, all the adverse events are closely being monitored as for the center, they say that authorities are now investigating at every level, Booth level, and district level. Officers have been asked to closely monitor anybody with adversity post-vaccine.

Concerned Authorities have already held two meetings on this. A doctor in Ahmedabad has contracted the infection hereafter both vaccination shots. A Doctor in Himachal Pradesh and another in Odisha were also reinfected post their second inoculation.

A Mumbai student also found positive after the second round of vaccination. There is a figure of 70 deaths after Covishield was given and one after COVAXIN was given.

The current Prima facie evidence does not show any causal linkage between deaths and the vaccine given. So whether be it Covishield or COVAXIN, that’s number one. The number two is notwithstanding these issues because most of these deaths are occurring in those individuals who have other comorbidities like heart disease, brain disorders, kidney disorders, blood pressure, diabetes, etc.

So and they’re in that age group when these events keep on occurring, and it looks like there is no spurt or increase in the occurrence, these events. Notwithstanding these things, we are also looking at whether there is an unusual increase in clotting issues, which is also called thromboembolic phenomena.

And, currently, we don’t see anything of concern, Covishield appears to be safe and not associated with any abnormal increase in clotting disorders. The Covishield used in India is manufactured by the Serum Institute, but European countries have stopped the vaccine. Their vaccine, as we understand mostly have been manufactured in an Italian plant.
