Amid Political Crisis, Uttrakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat Resigned

On March 08, 2021, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat reached the governor’s residence in the connection that he could tender his resignation.

There is speculation that he might resigned from his post. The piece of information came from many sources that there is a political crisis in the state.

It was triggered when the Aam Aadmi Party sends to political opportunity there and reached out to a senior Minister and the Uttarakhand government. Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat had tendered his resignation.

He reached to the governor with his resignation on late Monday evening. Now there have been back-to-back meetings regarding this topic. Trivendra Singh Rawat was also called Delhi earlier in order to discuss this matter.

He was also shown an internal survey of his dropping leadership graph, after which the BJP is now planning the next move. But yes, this is the latest and confirm now that Trivendra Singh Rawat has stepped down from the position of Chief Minister in Uttarakhand.

This decision was taken on Monday (March 08, 2021) when Trivendra Singh Rawat had met with BJP president J.P. Nadda at his residence in the national capital and top BJP leaders who have also met to discuss the developments.

This is the precipitation of a crisis that was in the making for a while essentially centered around the leadership of Trivendra Singh Rawat the incumbent Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.

He has been in power for four years. The government is nearing it is the last year of the five-year term. But then there were issues within the cabinet in terms of some administrative calls he took which were not liked by a section within the BJP and MLA’s.

He was called to Delhi by the central leadership and discussions were held subsequent to which perhaps it was decided that Trivendra Singh Rawat would make way for a new chief minister in the election year as a Uttarakhand goes into for polls.

What is important is that who would be taking over from Trivendra Singh Rawat as he has already submitted his resignation to Governor’s house. He is a member of parliament. And then Anil Baluni is a member of parliament again. Both are in a way in Delhi because of being members of the Parliament of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively.

Trivendra Singh Rawat who is the Education Minister there in the cabinet. So, that call obviously would be taken collectively by the MLAs as also of course, the central leadership of the BJP.

So essentially, dynamics within the BJP playing out in the moving on of Trivendra Singh Rawat and passing on whoever picks up on him based on central leadership choice and of course analysts.
