BJP Files Complaint against Shruti Haasan For Accompanying Kamal Haasan Inside Polling Booth

Coimbatore South, 7 April 2021 – Trouble coming in for MNM chief Kamal Haasan’s daughter Shruti Haasan. The Bharatiya Janata party has filed a complaint against the actor and singer Shruti Haasan with a poll panel alleging that she has trespassed into the election booths when she accompanied her father Kamal Haasan for a booth visit. The MNM chief after voting in Chennai had gone to Coimbatore South, the constituency where he is contesting to check certain polling booths.
The BJP National Women’s wing leader Vanathi Srinivasan, who is taking on Kamal Haasan from Coimbatore South, wrote to the district election officer demanding criminal action against Shruti Haasan. She has said that Sruthi should not have accompanied Kamal inside the booth while polling was on. She added that EC guidelines allow only booth agents to be inside the polling stations during voting.
BJP Coimbatore District President, R.NANDAKUMAR has given a complaint on behalf of Vanathi Srinivasan stating that Shruti Haasan, daughter of Kamal Haasan, who accompanied Kamal from Chennai to Coimbatore had also gone along with him into the polling booths where an election was happening yesterday. So, Kamal Haasan is a candidate from Coimbatore South went to monitor this kind of situation that was going on in polling booths.
And there Shruti Haasan had accompanied him and this is a bone of contention. The BJP says that only polling booth agents are allowed inside a polling booth and Shruti Haasan was not a polling agent. And yet she had entered into the polling booth and that is seen as a trespass. Hence, a complaint has been given to the election Officer of Coimbatore South, and it is still awaited as to what action will be taken against her. But clearly, the BJP has taken up this issue in a very serious manner, accusing the actress of trespassing into the polling booth.

Apart from this, we have seen a list of complaints being filed against Vanathi Srinivasan as well. Mayura Jayakumar is the Coimbatore Congress’s candidate had filed a complaint against Vanathi Srinivasan for distributing tokens among voters. Similarly, Kamal Haasan who’s also a candidate from the same constituency had also given a complaint against Vanathi Srinivasan with the same allegation.
