GNCT Act 2021: All Delhi Govt Schemes Need Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal Approval

New Delhi, April 29, 2021 – A Day after the Ministry of Home Affairs notified GNCT act 2021, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal gets into action. The LG has issued orders mandating his opinion on all states and concurrently subjects relating to Delhi, every scheme of the Delhi government has to get the approval of the Lieutenant Governor. Even the parole for prisoners will be cleared by the lieutenant Governor now. So this is what comes into effect. And this is how it all boils down to.
As far as the new rules the constitutional rule is being mandated in the National Capital Delhi. The nitty-gritty of this new law is something that is rubbing the Arvind Kejriwal government the wrong way. But then, here is the list of all the changes that Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has started making.
Asking the Delhi government to seek the opinion of the LGBT cabinet or the meaning of its minister take any executive action about a matter related to land, police, law, and order, subordinate legislation, granting of parole, Delhi finance commission, the establishment of the Constitution of the status body and the matter is specific under Rule 23 of the PPD Act.

The new law passed by the parliament on March 24 gives sweeping power to Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for running day to day business of the Capitol and almost takeaways administrative control from the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government. Now it is going to remain to be seen that when Delhi government and Arvind Kejriwal government is going to challenge this new law before the supreme court because they have already clear it that they are going to challenge before the supreme court but right now if you can, you can say that the LG Anil Baijal is the boss of Delhi.
