Films begin with the scene of a travel bus stopped on the way due to a landslide. A bus boy gets outside from the bus to watch why the road is blocked and suddenly he got crushed by rock rolled down from hills causing landslides. The boy dies at the same moment. And at that time bus driver tries to escape from the road by moving the bus backward. And then the road collapses which results in the bus getting buried under the soil. Inside the bus 9 passenger along with the driver got stuck. Parvathy a lead character also gets stuck with her 8 years old son inside the bus. His son use to be a cystic fibrosis disease patient. Parvathy’s son who is a cystic fibrosis patient has an oxygen cylinder with him to breathe oxygen normally.
One of the passengers got killed immediately when the bus got stuck inside the soil. Other face injuries and muscle rupture. The source of oxygen inside the bus gets blocked and now all the passengers have limited oxygen to breathe. The situation gets worse when Parvathy came to know that soon Oxygen will get vanish and she will die along with her son. When passengers on the bus observe Parvathy’s son with an oxygen cylinder they try to steal it from Parvathy and her son. And what happens next is what makes this movie interesting to watch.

Movie O2 got average reviews and ratings from film critics. However, it is a pretty good survival drama it still got 5.9 out of 10 on IMDB. Film critics of The Indian Express shared 3 out of 5 ratings and appreciated the performance of Nayanthara. Film Critic Mr. Logesh Balachandran from The Times of India also rated 3 out of 6. He appreciated the concept and storyline of the movie.
